Q. What can you tell me about the safety of the dunes?
A. Dune safety is of great importance. Be sure to be informed before you go on the most fun ride of your life!

Q. Can we reserve a specific site number?
A. No, but you can certainly request a certain site number, but we will not guarantee the request.

Q. Do you charge extra for each additional child?
A. Yes, there will be a $3 charge for each additional child if they are not dependents of the adults renting the site.

Q. How far is the Sand Dunes and the Lake Michigan Beaches from Jellystone?
A. Silver Lake is just 1/4 mile to the west of Jellystone Park. The Dune approach is approximately one mile to the north east. The Lighthouse and Lake Michigan Beach are about two miles.

Q. What parts of the Sand Dunes are designated for pedistrians? For vehicles?
A. Silver Lake Sand Dunes are divided into three sections. The far south is state owned and leased to Mac Woods Dune Rides. The middle section is for pedestrians only. The north end is the ORV (Off Road Vehicle) section.

Q. When are the dunes open?
A. The dunes are open daily from April 1st to Nov 1st --- 9AM to Dusk

Q. Can I access Lake Michigan from the dunes?
A. Yes. Many people drive across the dunes and park on the other side to enjoy the beaches of Lake Michigan.

Q. What are the requirements to take my vehicle on the dunes?
A. It is required by the State to have a State Park Sticker and an ORV (Off Road Vehicle) permit. Also, it is required to have a 10ft. flag attached to the front of your vehicle. ATV operators are required to wear helmets. On weekends and holidays, it is required to purchase a Dune Voucher to reserve a time to enter the Dunes. It is not required on weekdays. Q. Where are the Silver Lake Beaches and Boat Ramps?
A. The only public beach on the east side of Silver Lake is located in the State Park. There is public access and boat ramps located all around the lake. The closest public access to Jellystone Park is 1/4 mile. There is no overnight docking available. The Sand Dunes that border the west side of the lake make for great beach and water fun.

Q. Do you have a pool?
A. Yes. Our outdoor pool is heated and maintained at 80 degrees at all times. We also have a KIDDIE POOL with a MUSHROOM FOUNTAIN.

Q. Are pets allowed?
A. Although pets are not permitted in rental units, your pets are welcome at your camping site. However, they may not be left in the park unattended and must be quiet and kept on a leash. Please clean up after them as well.

Q. How old to you have to be to rent a campsite/rental unit?
A. There must be a person who is 21 years of age or older present to take responsibility for the site/rental unit and the occupants.
